The Team Event

KORDA B CROWNED KINGS OF BCAC

In a dramatic end to the team event where 5 teams could have lifted the title, it was Korda B’s Adam Penning and Tom Dove in semi final 1 who put the Korda boys out of reach of the other teams even with another 2 pairs qualified through to semi final no 2 and able to put yet more points on the board.

Penning and Dove took Korda high in the rankings with their top three success at Chilham Mill early on in the year and then when Danny Fairbrass / Damian Clark at Walthamstow Lower Maynard and Joe Morgan / Daryl Peck did the same at Walthamstow No 1 it was always going to be difficult to catch them.

Mainline and Fox both could have challenged as they both had two pairs through to the semi’s but they needed points that were not to materialize and it was in Semi 1 when Penning / Dove made the top three yet again that no one could mathematically catch Korda B. The fact that they still had two pairs left to add points in semi 2 was immaterial but in any event Morgan / Peck upped the tally even further to make it a more than convincing victory for the Korda B boys meaning that Korda will join the illustrious club of teams that have won the team event more than once.
