We are please to announce the long awaited venue listing for entries into the Korda backed British Carp Angling Championships 10. The high profile event which is seen across the world as THE event to win, is now in its 10th year. With £15,000 of cash prizes plus of course the title of British Champion up for grabs, it is a prize worthy of kings, and there is an extra special importance for the winner this year. This is the last chance to qualify through to the ultimate in carp matches, the BCAC Champion of Champion competition, which will see a one off match where all of the former champions over the last 10 years get to fish against each other to decide who will be the ultimate champion.
The eliminators kick off in April next year with the finals in September and the full calendar can be seen on these pages. As usual the event will be covered by Carp Talk as well as on TV across the Sky Sports network in August and September.
BCAC X Gains ICFA Ratification
Great news for the BCAC this year is that the tournament has been granted official recognition and ratification by ICFA, (The International Carp Fishing Association). This means that the results and achievements will be recognized and recorded by the international body of carp angling. It shows how credible the BCAC has become and is now a model that many other events are based upon. For more detail on ICFA check out www.icfa.info
Format
The 2008 format is the same as last year with 16 eliminators being held with 12 pairs in each event. The top 3 pairs from each event qualify through to the semi finals and the top 7 from each semi go through to the finals to face last years champions, the history making back to back winners Will and Dan O Flynn. In addition to the individual event there will, as usual be the team event and this is where three pairs register together to form a team and fish for combined points.
