Semi Finals 2009

Watermark Bradleys lake

Qualifiers from the first 8 eliminators go through to Semi Final 1 with the top three from the last 8 qualifiers going through to Semi 2.

Watermark Bradleys lake

Bradleys is 114 acres in size and holds approximately 2500 fish. Many of them are fast growing doubles which were stocked into the lake a few years ago and there are also some of the old originals which are the same strain as the historic Ashlea Pool fish. The official lake record currently stands at 42lbs but there are rumours of bigger fish present. Being so lightly fished means that there may be some surprises in the water and we are hoping that they might show themselves in the BCAC semi’s this year. The lake is an old gravel pit with plenty of features, bays, bars and a large plateau. The water is crystal clear so rigs will have to spot on.

Last year torrential rains and large storms make the sport very difficult for Semi 1 and Semi 2 was greeted with high pressure, roasting hot temperatures, and no wind whatsoever.

The lake is a day ticket water and if you want to fish there the cost is £20 for 24 hours.

To find the lake you should take the A419 between Swindon and Cirencester. Along this road you will see the Spine Road which takes you towards South Cerney. Follow the road for about a mile and you will see The Tackle Den (01285 862680) on the left hand side near to a ski lake and it is here that you can get your tickets for Bradleys. They will issue you with a ticket, map and key code for the gate. Please DO NOT just go up to the lake and walk around without a ticket. The shop is open between 9 – 5.30 Mon to Fri, 8am – 6pm on Sat, and 8am – 2pm on Sundays and you can book tickets over the telephone.
