We are pleased to announce that Barston will host the semi finals of the BCAC for 2010. Following an incredibly successful BCAC Champion of Champions match at the venue in 2009 where Andy Maker and Kev Reynolds netted an arm breaking 1204lbs in 48 hours, we have secured the whole of the lake for the semi’s in 2010.
Barston is one of those incredibly prolific carp / match venues that, in the right conditions and on the right day, can produce massive weights. Indeed it is one of only 4 venues in the country to be in the 1000lb club during an official competition; the others being the famous Drayton reservoir, Thorpe Lea, and Elphicks North Lake.
You can expect net busting action here, but as the lake is so well stocked you have to have your wits about you to get through to the bigger carp. There are literally thousands of doubles which are the main target of the competition carper, but be aware that as the venue is an all round match water there are a lot of other species in there too.
Barston is available on a day ticket basis for all to fish and is without question an incredibly prolific carp water.
