Team League
The team event is open to manufacturers, shops, bait companies, clubs, or even just groups of anglers and runs concurrently with the British Carp Champs main event. Three pairs register as a team, and as well as fishing for themselves, they score points towards their team scores. The winners are the team with the most points at the end of the second semi finals. Current champions Carp-Talk are very strong but if you fancy your chances why not enter the team event.
Team Profiles
Nash
Headline BCAC sponsors Nash Tackle are looking to make a big impact on this year\'s team championship and have certainly put together a line-up to do it. Headed by the mega-talented Billy Flowers and Jamie Londors, these two are always around at the business end and are sure to be backed up by two other quality teams.
The official print media partner of the BCAC, it\'s fair to say that Carp-Talk absolutely dominated the team championship in 2011 and they\'ll be looking to follow up with another strong performance. To further strengthen the squad, the talented Grout & Wylde have also been drafted in for 2012.
Can Sticky Baits create a Vortex and dominate the 2012 team championships? Well it\'s fair to say they have a line up more than capable of doing so with previous team champs Adam Snowden and Danny Fletcher joining the ranks this year alongside the talented Mark Pitchers and Richard Seeds.
Velocity Baits\' Shane Alway has always been a big supporter of the BCAC and for 2012 has put together what we consider to be a very capable team full of very experienced anglers. Definitely another one to keep a close eye on.
Always in the shake up, Graham Mabey\'s company For Life Experiences put a lot back into fishing and would be a deserved winner of the coveted BCAC team championship. Good luck for 2012 guys!
BCAC regulars Bevo\'s Baits are back for another crack at the gold and have plenty of previous experience. Once again, another team who could threaten the big boys.
DNA Baits are one of the up-and-coming bait firms in the UK and have put together a trio of pairs who have all done well in previous year\'s. Don\'t be surprised if these guys are all in there when it gets to the sharp end of the competition.
JXT Products are really starting to make a name for themselves in carp fishing and for the 2012 team event they have hooked up with DNA Baits. Good luck guys and welcome to the competition.
Could anyone Spomb their way to victory in this year\'s BCAC team championship? Well if anyone can, team Spomb can and we are pleased to see them back for another go in the competition as well as sponsors for an the Thorney Weir eliminator.
It\'s always nice to see the armed forces represented in the BCAC and we are sure the Starbaits backed team will put on a competitive showing this year.
Velocity Angling will no doubt be looking for a good performance this year and are one of a group of teams that despite not being one of the more recognisable names, are more than capable of contesting the top places.
Headed up by Crafty Carper editor Jerry Bridger, the Angling Publications boys return for another crack at the team titles and with the likes of Jason Cann in the mix are sure to be a force to be reckoned with.
These days the boys from the RAF have a very competitve carp match scene up-and-running and we are expecting big things from them this year. It really would be great to see either the RAF or Army teams win the title in 2012.
This very talented bunch pulled off a bit of a shock in last year\'s event with two teams making it through to the final and Tim Fromant/Cliff Kemp taking individual third. There\'s plenty of quality here so it wouldn\'t surprise us if they pulled off a similar result.
Always there or thereabouts, Team Mainline Baits always have a strong line-up for this event and 2012 looks no different. 2011 Carp Cup Champion Pete Holehouse is always part of the team and together with the consistent Marsh & Merritt and young hotshots Bartlett & Hewitt, you would be hard pushed to put together a more formidable trio.
Team Mainline Fox are never too far away when it comes to the crunch and with the likes of Rose & Spurgeon in the team alongside newcomers Mansford & Leakey, they look set to do well once again.
For the first time in the BCAC, Mainline Baits have linked up with renowned rod builders Free Spirit and what a team they have come up with. With the likes of Simeon Bond and Mark Hutchinson there are some real experienced campaigners on show here and it would come as no surprise to see them contesting the top two or three places.
It\'s nice to see the boys at Solar Tackle involved in the BCAC team event and they have pulled together a good bunch of \'sharper carpers\' including the likes of globetrotter Tom Duncan-Dunlop.
With the likes of previous BCAC champs Wayne Rees and Luke Church and Carp Cup runner up Jack Stamp in their line up, CC Moore head into the 2012 full of confidence. This is undoubtedly their strongest team line up ever and must rank as one of the favourite to take down the title.
icarp took the carp world by storm with their iphone carp fishing App and the lads are back for a second shot at the team championship. Heading down to Willows Farm and Broadlands for their eliminators, if these lads get on the fish they are as dangerous as anyone.
Would the BCAC be the same without a team from the famous Tackle Box? We don\'t think so and therefore are delighted to see them in for 2012. Great anglers who enjoy themselves on the bank whether they are on the fish or not.
You wouldn\'t expect one of the largest bait firms in the world to come with anything less than a top flight line-up and that\'s exactly what they have. Phil Bury and Joe Hubble are consistent BCAC performers and head up a very competitive team Nash Bait that includes young superstar Jack Brown and experienced big fish angler Adam Garland.
